When we started with the renovation of our little Housi the goal was to re-use and upcycle as much as possible to reduce the environmental impact of getting newly produced articles. The house was built in 1968 and like most of buildings from this era, not many power plugs have been set in the rooms. Further more, the previous owner already added additional plugs in a let's call it intersting way. After we got the full overview of the situation, it became clear that we have to set new plugs according to our needs and re-place the existing covers to receive a clean look.

During my search for a more sustainable replacement, I got accross wooden plug covers and light switches. The plugs are certified and have the same safty standards as normal plastic plugs. The colour of the European beech matched our wooden floor, so we decided to go for them.

I was more than excited when they arrived and put them straight away in our bedroom walls. It is amazing how natrual they look on the white wall and it is a pleasure to switch the light on and off due to the natural feeling you have when you touch them.
